Important information for Macintosh Users The Java implementation provided by Apple is missing part of the MIDI implementation. To allow proper use of MIDI you will need a third-party add-on, or Java will not be able to communicate with your MIDI devices. The recommended add-on is the Mandolane MIDI SPI (shareware), but if you have an older PowerPC based Mac you might get away with using Plumstone (freeware). Note that all testing has been done with Mandolane, so Plumstone may or may not support all features. You can find both Mandolane and Plumstone at the Mandolane homepage. |
